Standers allow for physiological development and greater interaction. Rifton has created a truly multi-position stander that can switch easily between prone and supine to provide the greatest flexibility and the most options for users to meet the world in an upright position, participating at eye level alongside peers.
Rifton’s standers provide support and stability while encouraging weight-bearing and use of both hands and arms. Fully adjustable with a critical hip abduction feature, the Rifton stander grows with users as their skills develop.
The health benefits of supported standing for children with disabilities have been widely recognized for years. Consider some of these important areas:
The unique base frame design allows for full abduction even when the user’s feet are close to the floor.
The body support is a large, padded area, supporting the user’s pelvis and trunk, and is the base for several important straps and lateral supports.
The caregiver handle allows easy maneuvering, even while the user is in the product. It can be quickly adjusted up or down to be positioned at a convenient height, or out of the way below the the multi-position tray.
For the size 1 Stander: the column allows 6″ of height adjustment of the product, assisted with a locking gas spring. Varying sizes of users can be positioned at an appropriate standing height – either with their feet close to the floor to be at the same level as their peers, or higher to reach a table for activities.
The Stander supports 0°-30° of independent hip abduction. Adjust abduction by using the knob behind the hip.
The padded body support can tilt 90° from horizontal to fully vertical. Adjust the Stander to the ideal angle for each user.
The optional advanced leg supports allow independent hip angle adjustment, 0°-45° forward and 0°-45° back, to promote hip joint development. The hip depth adjusts independently as well. Available for the Size 2 & 3 Standers.
The optional advanced leg supports allow independent knee angle adjustment, 0°-45° forward and 0°-45° back, to accommodate contractures. Separate upper and lower leg length adjustments ensure that users with leg length discrepancies can be comfortably supported. Available for the Size 2 & 3 Standers.
Sandals provide secure foot support with a heel cup (adjustable in length) and two straps over the foot, each of which closes with a strong, magnetic buckle. The sandals adjust forward and back and rotate using the knob underneath. When transitioning between prone and supine, the sandal rotates 180°.
With options to adjust overall height plus individual components, this stander accommodates growth and a wide range of sizes.
At the top of the upper trunk support is the padded headrest, which provides posterior support for the user’s head, and allows the attachment of optional head laterals for those requiring more support.
One pair of padded lateral supports is provided, and can be used at the lateral trunk, or lower down at the lateral pelvis area. The white trigger where the lateral support inserts into the side of the body support allows adjustment in width, while the white button on the lateral support itself allows it to flip away for transfers. The knob on the lateral support allows some individual height adjustment of each pad.
That’s why we offer clients the opportunity to visit our locations and get a true sense of any given product. Motion isn’t a place. It’s a partnership, and a promise: we work with you to turn our products into possibilities.
In certain cases, a client may choose to provide payment upfront, in full, before funding has been approved. That means Motion can proceed with ordering their equipment. But, don’t forget: most funders will only pay the amount approved after the date of approval. If the client asks Motion to order the equipment before receiving funding approval, the client will be responsible for paying the full amount of the equipment to Motion if the application isn’t approved.
Remember: a client may choose to bridge the gap between application and delivery of their final equipment by making the most of Motion’s rental equipment and repair service offerings.
Please speak to a Motion representative for complete details.
